Urgent Care Clinic
Appointments in our Urgent Care Clinics are for conditions that need to be seen on the day and are 'sit and wait'.
If you think your condition is urgent and cannot wait until the next available routine then a Clinician will see to you. The receptionist will take your details and will need to pass a brief description of the problem to the Clinician who will prioritise the appointments. This may mean that someone with a more serious problem may be seen before you, even if you arrived first.
Many patients really appreciate their problems being dealt with over the phone by advice.
Our Urgent Care Clinic has limited capacity. When the Clinic is full and you feel your problem is urgent, you would need to attend a walk-in centre or A&E (for a list of the local walk-in centres and A&E, please see 'Get Medical Help Out of Hours'). Alternatively, you can try the next day for an appointment.
We now offer telephone appointments. Many problems are conveniently dealt with over the phone. Ask for the doctor you have been dealing with to phone you. For your convenience, your chosen doctor will try to call you during an agreed time slot on the agreed day.
Please ensure you leave a contact number where you will be available for the duration of the day.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
